Born in Istanbul in 1976. She studied ballet in Istanbul Municipality Conservatory while she was in primaryschool. After finishing Istek Foundation Kasgarli Mahmut Private Highschool,she got into the Kocaeli University, Jeological Engineering section. After licence program graduation, she attended PRE – MBA program in Marmara University. She first met glass in 2005 September. She took flame art lessons from Lokman Kursunlu in Kurshuni Glass Art Studio.She joined to the advanced level bead making program of Michaela Möller in 2006 June,in Beykoz Glass Furnace and flameworking program of Julie Anne Denton in August, 2008 at Beykoz Glass Furnace. In September 2010,she participated Lucio Bubacco’s workshop including flamework for sculptural forms in Italy. The designer, Berna Terziahmetoğlu, she also gives workshops to her students and teaches thetechnical flameworking details.
Kathre brand accesories are produced and designed by a technique called flameworking. In this technique, Italian glass rods are melted at higher temperatures flames. They are kiln annealed pieces and one of a kind. These special and sculptural ones are combined with silver and goldplated silver after torch work.
